Airway orthodontics sees the bite as the result of how the face breathes, grows, and functions. Rather than focusing only on straightening teeth, it seeks to understand why dental space, jaw growth, and breathing have developed the way they have.
We approach airway orthodontics through the lens of facial growth and the airway, caring for children from age 3 in the earliest stages of development. Our approach is built on understanding how jaw growth, breathing, and function shape the bite, dental space, and long-term stability.
We step in early when needed and watch and wait, respectfully, when the child’s stage calls for it. This work is part of an interdisciplinary team effort to guide facial growth, support healthier breathing, and prevent patterns that can become permanent over time.
WHEN IS AIRWAY ORTHODONTICS INDICATED?
Signs worth evaluating
Mouth breathing
Dental crowding or lack of space
Bite irregularities
Unfavorable facial growth
Facial development that isn't following a healthy pattern
It doesn't always mean immediate treatment; sometimes the goal is
to watch and guide how things evolve.
HOW WE WORK
Before recommending any appliance, we get to the root of the problem.
01
Comprehensive evaluation
We carry out a comprehensive evaluation to understand the real source of the problem.
02
A team decision
As a team, we decide whether to treat, wait, or refer.
03
An integrated plan
We build breathing, function, and sleep findings into the treatment plan.
